The mid autumns festival falls within the national holiday this year, making it extra special in the mind of many Chinese families.
The already extremely congested traffic will make a turn for the worst, there will be an estimated of four times the amount of traffic on the first of October. The Chinese authority recommends the public to leave major cities on the second or third of October instead of the first, and return on the seventh or eighth instead of the ninth, to side step from the busiest days.
There will be a 35% increase on possible accidents on the busy roads by the following provinces: Hebei, Shandong, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Sichuan, with the G15 highway in Guangdong being the most accident prone.
Unlike spring festival where the major cities are being emptied, the national holiday is usually the time when people from all over the country target these major cities, so in other word, the crowded areas will likely to stay just as crowded during the national holidays, if not more so.
